Chicken Piccata

  • Large skillet


  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 6 chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


  • Combine flour, salt, and pepper on a plate or deep dish.
  • Set aside 2 tbsp of the mixture.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in skillet on medium heat.
  • Coat chicken in flour mixture and cook 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
  • Remove chicken from skillet; set aside and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • Add minced garlic to empty skillet and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add reserved flour mixture; stir.
  • Add chicken broth and lemon juice; stir.
  • Simmer until sauce thickens.
  • Spoon sauce onto chicken, and serve. Can be served on top of rice (white or brown) if desired.
